Geothermal system
It is considered as part of the energy conservation measures in this design. The wells are 510 feet deep and twenty feet on center from well to well. These wells feed water cooled compressors for both heating and cooling loads by providing tempered water to the AHU in the winter and cool water during the summer. The water in pipe remain at a consistent temperature of around 57 °F, which creates a ground source heat ex-changer. Its control strategies are designed How to serve the AHU? The closed water loop is connected to a water source heat pump. Inside the heat pump, a closed refrigerant loop makes heat exchange with the water loop. In winter, it absorb heat from the water loop. In summer, it dumps heat to the water loop. |
